About me
I’m Sarah. I run Velvet Studio in York, doing brand and web work for independents who need one person who can do the techy bit. This started as a favour: helping three friends develop their businesses online, which I carried on doing for five years. Then I built my own business, York Aromatics, from nothing but an idea, people kept asking who had done it, and the favour became a studio.
Work that used to take a studio three weeks does not need to take three weeks any more.
I use AI-powered tooling on the production end, so what you pay for is judgement, design and knowing what to build. A human eye on the things that matter, rather than a human grinding through the things that do not.

Turning the data a business already had into information it could act on. Decisions made with the evidence in front of you rather than a hunch. That is still the job. I read the business before I read the brief.
